We are sun worshipers.
Prohibition drove grows indoors, but we don’t have to hide anymore!
For thousands of years cannabis has been grown under the sun and now that prohibition is over in Washington State, weed deserves to come out into the light! Indoor gardens have their own benefits and unique outcomes, but indoor farmers are forced to rely on light bulbs to replicate the sun. Let’s face it, no lightbulb can ever replicate the full spectrum of the sun or the agricultural benefits sunlight provides plants.
As you can imagine, the sun awakens characteristics in plants that bulbs just don’t. Think about the way that sun grown tomato from your friends garden tastes versus the one you bought from the store in the dead of winter; There is no comparison in flavor and experience. The same goes for weed! Because our plants get the real deal full spectrum sunlight, our bud has a broader spectrum of cannabinoids and terpenes resulting in premium bud full of flavor and effect.
Organic is our way of life.
How your weed is grown and what it is grown in makes a difference. Most indoor farmers use a non soil plant media for growing and add synthetic nutrients in the form of chemicals to give the plant what it needs to grow big, and strong. This is why farmers who grow hydroponically have to “flush” the plants with only water the last few weeks, to clear the plants (hopefully) of any residual chemicals/salts. If indoor plants are not properly flushed out before harvest, the final product can contain residual amounts of these chemicals which can be harmful and harsh tasting if consumed. Not to mention, plant media used for growing in indoor gardens can not be reused for future harvests creating a lot of waste for these particular grow styles.
Cascade Gnome cultivates cannabis in organic living soil. That means our plants grow in and get their nutrients from a living ecosystem with beneficial microorganisms that help the plant get the nutrients it needs to grow. We care for and amend our soil using agricultural byproducts and waste such as oyster shells and chicken meal that help enrich the soil with the nutrients our plants need.
Thanks to our organic living soil, we never have to “flush” out chemical nutrients like our indoor farming friends.
We are stewards of our environment.
We care about what goes into our bodies and what goes into yours! We care so much that our flowers are Clean Green Certified, the highest standard of clean, organic, sustainable growing practices for cannabis producers/processors in WA.
It is important to us that we don’t take without giving back. We only have one planet and there is no reason our cannabis crops should destroy the very land that gave it life.
We reduce waste by using by products from other industries and we are able to reuse our soil crop after crop because we feed its natural ecosystem. As a result, we are a sustainable, low to no waste farm that nurtures the land that gives us so much life.
It’s the circle of life, it moves us all.
At Cascade Gnome we promote life of all kind on our farm. Thanks to the sustainable environment our plants are raised in, our plants benefit from a strong, natural immune defense against pests and mold, without having to rely on chemical pesticides.
We allow nature to create a healthy environment for our plants. where they grow up in living soil providing the nutrients they need to be healthy, we plant other flowers and vegetation that help mitigate pests that could harm our crops, and we use chickens, ducks, and goats for pest control and waste management. The more life there is, the more our plants benefit from nature’s built in feedback loop.
